Don’t Panic Presents: Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other
We’re pleased to announce a screening of the documentary Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other on Thursday, 10th April at the Electric Cinema, in White City House!
This intimate documentary offers a profound exploration of the lives of artist Maggie Barrett and her husband, the eminent photographer Joel Meyerowitz. Through the lens of their relationship, the film addresses their attempts to find meaning and peace in the face of life's challenges and inevitable mortality. As Maggie confronts the repercussions of a broken femur, Joel's role as a caregiver unveils the raw, emotional truths of their journey together. The film artfully weaves themes of love, resilience, and the complexities of growing old together, all set against a backdrop of stunning visuals and raw, authentic storytelling.

Following the screening, there will be an insightful Q&A featuring acclaimed artists Sophie Vallance Cantor and Douglas Cantor. They will share their perspectives on the film’s themes and engage in conversation with our Senior Creative, Georgia Stephenson. Together, they will delve into the intersections of creativity and personal narrative, discussing how experiences shape their artistic journeys and informing their work.
