LARRY THE CAT FOR PRIME MINISTER

Larry the Cat, the only permanent resident of 10 Downing Street, has thrown his collar into the ring in the running for Prime Minister. The last minute addition to the leadership race follows a landslide win in a Twitter poll of his 644k followers, where an overwhelming 94.5% voted that Larry should be the next Prime Minister when put up against Liz Truss (2.1%) and Rishi Sunak (3.3%).On his reasons for running, Larry says: “Choice. It’s a wonderful thing to have. The choice between kibbles. The choice between chasing a feather, or a string. The choice between napping on the sofa, front step or in the lap of a minister. But moreover, choice is a fundamental part of a functioning democracy. And choice is what I believe in. “So, the Conservative leadership race piqued my curiosity considerably. How do 160,000 Tory members get to decide who the Prime Minister is for a nation of over 67 million people? …and 34 million pets. Strikes me as being deeply undemocratic. “In exceptional circumstances it takes exceptions to the rule to make a real difference. With over 11 years experience in 10 Downing Street, I have a deeper understanding of how government works than both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak combined. In my role as Chief Mouser, I have demonstrated commitment, bravery and an instinct to serve our nation. “Yes I’m a cat. But I’m a cat that acts with integrity. A cat that knows with a true democracy, with true choice, that anything is pawsible.”

We aided Larry on his political journey, collaborating with Build Hollywood to kick off his campaign with billboards in Hackney and Peckham with tearaway meow-festos, and a digital billboard on Shepherd’s Bush roundabout. Additionally, we fly postered on walls around London, using the power of outdoor advertising to springboard Larry’s campaign (and the important message it carries) onto social feeds across the UK. Cat flap stickers are also available for cats and cat-lovers who want to show their support, along with #Larry4Leader on socials. You can find out more about Larry’s campaign at www.larry4leader.com.

But what does Larry stand for?

  1. Treats (when you dangle a feather).
  2. Responsible Hiss-cal Policy.
  3. Meals for every child, wet food for every kitten.
  4. Cats to decide when boxes are ready for recycling.
  5. No more Downing Street parties without Larry.
  6. He’s the only candidate with clean paws.
  7. No more political cat fights. Calm and civil discourse only please.
  8. Decriminalisation and regulation of catnip markets.
  9. No lying in No. 10 unless its on a comfy cushion.
  10. Showing the nation that our current political system is neither fair nor democratic and that the fate of our country being decided by 160,000 people is not only antiquated its damaging.
